Hello,

I was wondering which ATP sampling devices are recommended? We currently use the "MVP Icon" from Millipore Sigma - haven't had any issues but this device seems to be more expensive than the rest. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you,

We've used the Hygiena SystemSURE Plus luminometer for years and have never had any issues. It is not the fancy touch screen kind so it is much cheaper than others but it does the job.

Hi.

I've used the one Gelato mentioned but now I use the fancy touch screen one lol and I like it a lot better. I always had issues with that one in different companies. The cap would stop closing properly and you had to keep it down yourself for the 15 seconds in order to be able to get the result. The touch screen one only takes 10 seconds instead of 15 so that's nice too I am just not sure on the difference in price. You can also input your allergen results into the system if you use the alert sticks or the allersnaps.

We use Hygiena too. Another company owned facility uses 3M. The plan is to solely use Hygiena in the future at all the plants. I was told it is more user friendly.

We changed over to Neogen AccuPoint Advanced Next Gen from MVP Icon for two major reasons.

  • Neogen utilizes a zero dollar loan lease for their devices which means you are not purchasing the equipment and repairs are free.
  • Shipping and billing are quick and accurate even during the world supply chain disruptions.
  • A bonus point is that they always answer your phone calls and in all the time that I have used their system I have never been sent to voicemail.
  • Second bonus point is that years ago we had a discussion about what was our main issues with sampling and data corruption and they started developing RFID capabilities to eliminate the data corruption from Technicians sampling the wrong location, they have this feature now.
  • The one true drawback is that the samplers must be refrigerated but I find it a small price to pay for the peace of mind.

I second Hygiena SystemSURE Plus. Super easy to use and quick results especially quick allergen testing it works great :)

I have plenty of Hygiena EnSURE Touches. They're simple to use and they can actually test for more than just ATP. If you talk to your sales rep you can even get discounts on multiple devices. Something I enjoy is the fact it connects to a website called SureTrend which automatically keeps track of all your data for you and of course trends it. Not sure how cheap you're looking for but they're about $1,200 each. You can even do Zone 1 testing on them and result time is around 7ish hours for APC & Coliform! This saved my small department about $10,000 a year in Zone 1 testing costs BTW.

I have used the Hygenia ensure touch and previously the non touch (I forget the name) the touch one is great and has lots of nice features and links in nicely to the portal for data etc. The other one works fine, but if you can get the budget for the touch one, I would go that route imo. Also get one of Calcheck LED sticks, its FAR easier and ultimately cheaper than using the control samples.
