Hello all,

Can anyone recommend or suggest alternative options to Genesis R&D Food Labelling Software?

We are a Canadian bakery that currently uses Genesis R&D but are looking for a cheaper alternative to nutrition labelling for Canada and US.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be  greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I am also seeking a Genesis alternative due to recent price increases.  MenuCalc and Nutritics both look like good alternatives for significantly less subscription cost.  I don't think MenuCalc has Canadian labeling format built in but both options are probably worth looking into.  I also had a demo of Nutritionist Pro but MenuCalc and Nutritics had features better suited for my use.

Been using Nutracoster and looking into other options as I've been on the fence with this software.  Have used genesis in another position/plant and like all the options, however quoting this out for this site with additional addons is really adding up and pricing us out.   Recipal looks interesting and their pricing is straight forward.  Looking for the same US/CAN labeling.

Nutritionist Pro has worked out well for us in the interim, we also recently dropped Genesis because of the unjustified price hike. Replacing it with a more robust program to get more bang for our buck. In the interim Nutritionist Pro.

Yeah, ESHA increasing the price was a tough pill to swallow. Data migration was an issue, but the utter lack of support was horrible. My company’s most significant issue was the timing of all these ESHA changes. I don’t know how, but we were able to find a cheaper alternative to Esha ( Alternative to ESHA ). The good thing is that these guys are going out of their way to serve us as they want our business. I even went to visit them in their office. (Just like I did with ESHA almost 2 decades ago). Their small but highly energized team really won me over. Fingers crossed. Let’s see how it goes.

LabelCalc is a user-friendly solution that I think you should know about that is appropriately priced. Worst case scenario, you gain some insight to the different options available to your team. LabelCalc takes you through the labeling process and makes it simple for you.

  • Cloud Based with internet access and a browser you can easily access your recipes.
  • User friendly with a simple layout and a clear workflow from start to finish.
  • Cost-effective we do not charge for up to 5 added users and it is a yearly subscription there are no implementation costs as it is a SaaS product.
