Dears,

Good day,

I have an inquiry about the microbiological limits in plastic film industries (food contact),

is there a reference that i can use to set the limit for swabbing the different types of microorganisms.

Thanks for your help,

weaam

Hello,

During  last BRCG audit (issue 6) we got an NC regarding this issue even though we performed the microbiological tests. The auditor advised us to follow the national standard. If there is no national standard he told us to check the limits followed by our clients especially the clients that produce perishable food. Then we set clear limits based on the limits provided by our clients and the auditor was satisfied.

Another important thing is to double check if the laboratory is accredited for each of the test to be performed.

Many thanks Weaam for your reply, actually i was thinking for the same since i came from food industries but still not familiar with the packaging films standards,

But really thanks for sharing your experience! appreciated!

Setting in house specification is a best option based on trend analysis.
