Hi All,

Just a quick question I need some help with. We are a GRADE AA+ certified company.  We have cleaning contractors starting with us in the coming weeks. Up to now we have always done our own cleaning and kept our own records.

Is there a list of records etc that I should have or can anyone recommend a procedure for recording cleaning by an outside contractor.

Thanks in advance!

Nobrien

Hi :)

BRC issue 9 -

I would consider ;

- 4.3.3 "Contractors who visit regularly should be trained to a similar level as employees, and a record of the training retained"

- 4.9.1 Chemical Control - what type of chemicals they will use (storage etc)

- 7.1.1 Training (allergens, PPE etc)

- 3.5.3.1 - Management of suppliers of services

Then I would request to use my records, or I would discuss earlier  what they can offer, but it is all depended on your requirements (for example swabbing like ATP or any other cleaning verification). Definitely they will need inhouse training for machinery (cleaning cards)

;)

We've used a few contract cleaning companies in the past.  We trained their managers and they used all our internal paperwork.

Unfortunately none of them could seem to do a very good job, and ended up costing more than having our own people in the long run.  Hopefully you have better luck with it than I did.
