Hi there,
Our company is looking into MSC for Chain of Custody. We are importers of MSC certified product, fully packed ready for retail and food service in tamper proof packaging.
From what I've read, we are excempt from the scope:
"This excludes seafood products in “consumer ready tamper proof” packaging (i.e. sealed and labelled products that will be sold to final consumers in the same form, such as individual cans of tuna). For a full definition of consumer ready tamper proof, refer to Section 6.1 of the MSC Chain of Custody Certification Requirements (CoCCR). "
However, because we do take legal ownership of the products (our brand), I am thinking we are not really excempt from being certified and we would fall under their scope activities for trading or wholesale.
Would anyone be able to shed some light on this?? I am a bit lost here.
Thanks!
