Hi!

Are there regulated/standard for relative humidity and temperature for rice mill warehouse/storage areas?

I cannot find any regulations regarding it locally (Philippines) and internationally. Hope you guys could help me.

Thanks!

Hello,

Consider the following:

1. Rice has to be dry. Water content no more than 14% moisture (grain), for seed the moisture should be less than 12%.

2. Store rice in dry location. With humidity less than 60% at a temperature of 32 C.

3. Remember if relative humidity is 85% or higher at 32 C, the chances of your rice quality damage increases.

Thanks,

In our investigation, the best and most suitable temperature and relative humidity for rice storge is 20 °C and 40%,
