Hello all,

 

This might be a stupid question.

 

I have a friend who is trying to open a dietary supplement company. She know that she have to register with the FDA, but do she have to register with Georgia Department of Agriculture (She's from Atlanta) even if she is "consider" dietary supplement.

Hard to say, you may want to contact someone in the state of Georgia and ask them directly. It looks like they do issue licenses for food production facilities. Dietary Supplements are often considered "food" in most jurisdictions, so I would say yes you do need to register. But you're better off asking Georgia directly.

They're going to look for licenses regardless, your friend is better off contacting the GDA prior to figuring out their FDA paperwork as the GDA could give you some guidance since they collaborate.
