Hi Everyone,

we are a company located in Canada, obviously . We are changing our oil source . this new canola oil contains: Dimethylpolysiloxane - Maximum limit: 10ppm & BHA with BHT – Maximum limit : 200ppm. My question is:   Shall we declare these additives on our labels? I couldn't find anything on CFIA website under permitted preservatives section? If yes, can you refer to it's source.

Thank you!

Is this a specially formulated oil with these additives or do all canola oils contain these ingredients?

hi,

It should have been formulated like that. cause they have sent us 2 differnt kinds of specs. one with additives, the other one, no additives.

Im saying we have to declare but my employer does not want to revise all labels.

Hi Shookimogh,

I am not too sure if this will help https://inspection.c...mitted-synonyms, it shows that it is under the list of permitted food additives and that food additives must be declared by an acceptable common name in the list of ingredients. (https://inspection.canada.ca/en/food-labels/labelling/industry/food-additives#c4). I hope this helps
