Hello,

We are working with a transport provider, which kind of checking we have to do for the trucks before loading and after loading?

Thank you

We check everything Scampi listed plus a Vermin check and human presence check (we added this last one as we have clients that have found people sleeping behind the cooling unit.

We don't ship on reefers, but this is our list.

  1. Structural Conditions:
    1. The doors to the trailer/container appear in good condition and show no signs of tampering. The seals, locking mechanisms and hinges are in proper working order to ensure the containers’ integrity.
    2. There shall be no evidence of visible light/leaks through holes or cracks in the ceiling, corners, walls, or floor.
    3. There shall be no protruding nails, metal stubs/slivers, or other extraneous items attached to the walls or floor.
    4. No soft sided trailers
  2. Debris and Foreign Material:
    1. The presence of spilled or exposed products is unacceptable.
    2. Build-up of dirt and/or debris on the floor, door ledges, walls and ceiling is not acceptable.
    3. Any allergen posing a potential food safety risk must be reported to the customer before unloading can begin or continue.
  3. Odors:
    1. Food products are very susceptible to the absorption of strong odors and are not to be loaded or unloaded from a trailer with perceptible odors.
  4. Insect, Rodent, and Spoilage Contamination:
    1. Adequate light will be used to check all corners, floor and wall junctions and any floor channels for the presence of mold, mildew, rodent pellets and /or excessive numbers of insects.
  5. Condensation:
    1. Excessive condensation is not present on the container or product.

Here is our general checklist for inbound and outbound.  Similar to what had been posted already.

1. Compartment door seals intact? If broken is the container a "Less than Load" (LTL) shipment?
- LTL must have a lock
- Full truckloads moist have a seal
2. Is the truck clean and in good condition?
- No tree leaves
- No trash
- No visible holes in the container
3. Offensive odor present?
- Moisture or mildew present in container?
4. Pallet inspected for contaminates and pests?
- No insect infestation or activity
- No bird droppings, nesting
- No small creatures

5. BOL matches load?

6. Does the trailer show any evidence that it was used to transport any harmful non-food items or waste products?

7. No Allergen concerns that pose a risk to the material?
- Over and under segregation being followed?
8. Is the integrity of the load intact?
- Any damaged materials?
- If damaged materials are found was this documented on the BOL with the carrier?
- Outbound pallet is stable, wrapped and no damage?
9. Pallets are in good condition? No excessive splintering wood or broken plastic?
