Hi everyone,

The company I am working for is a meat manufacturing (beef). I have a question regarding to the total label outside the box when we pack the product. We usually put the single label on our beef item, and depending on the amount, we put 1 total label outside the box (including all the features + a sentence indicating "pack of 2", or "pack of 3", etc with the total weight).

My question is: Instead of putting the total label like I mentioned above, can we just print extra singles labels and put them outside the box?

Thank you so much.

To note that I do not work in the beef world nor have I ever. With that said I have also have never seen multiple units labeling being placed on the exterior of a case of food items unless in food service.  In retail there is a hierarchy that deals with a GTIN and then the UPC.  GTIN generally refers to the master item in a case and then the UPC is associated with the individual unit.   Now if this is for a customer that will further handle the product then you would want to make that the customer is in agreement with this process.  If going straight to retail/consumer then I would assume that the retailer would need the information of the case unit to receive into their system and facility as the barcode/GTIN# would be associated with the master item.

If you could share more information might be able to work it out a bit more.
