Getachew Dinede is a PhD researcher at the Natural Resources Institute of the University of Greenwich, UK, since January 2024 and a research officer at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Ethiopia, since April 2021. He has received his MPH in Epidemiology from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia in 2018 and DVM in Veterinary Medicine from Jimma University, Ethiopia in 2008. Prior to joining ILRI, he served as an epidemiologist at the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture (2015-2021), as a veterinarian at Benishangul-Gumuz Region Agricultural Bureau, Ethiopia (2013-2014); as a college instructor at Oromia Pastoral Areas Technical and Vocational Education and Training College, Oromia, Ethiopia (2010-2012) and at Mickey Leland College, Oromia, Ethiopia (Oct. 2008-Aug. 2009). He has a strong interest in areas of food safety, epidemiology, data analysis, scientific communication, disease surveillance, disease outbreak investigation, zoonosis, One Health, risk analysis.
I have been working on mega food safety interventions in LMICs. At the fisrt day of my connection with this network, I am benefitted from getting crucial answers to some questions related to my PhD activities in food safety. Hope to contribute and benefitted from this platform.
