The FSMA/PCQI training has most likely been updated over the years since new documents have been posted by the FDA plus regulatory changes. For example - sesame added as an allergen, traceability.

However, the FDA has not required anyone to update their PCQI training/have new training.

The code says you much be knowledge of the food safety rules, this would include any new regulatory that comes out.

I hope this answers your question.

Some customers like Costco have a re-training requirement (5 years), but the FDA does not.

Costco requires HACCP training to be refreshed.

PCQI training is now on V2. I downloaded the manual in lieu of spending more money to take the new version. I didn't see anything new but just better examples and more references.

Version 2 of the PCQI training has been released and the Lead Instructors are currently being updated. I managed to do my Lead Instructor upgrade before Christmas.

The new version addresses important updates in FDA guidance documents. An important change in the curriculum is a heightened emphasis on the connection between HACCP and Preventive Controls in order to gain recognition from the Global Food Safety Initiative as a recognized HACCP training.

The full course has also been extended out to a minimum of 22 hours (not including lunch/breaks)......so expect a minimum 3-day course.
