Hello,

I am trying to get a third party to come and calibrate/certify our MD. I found a company and this is what they said "All our wands that we use to run through the units are ISO certified. We are a 3rd party; company isn't obligated to be ISO or NIST certified".

Is this ok? Is the certification for the wands enough?

We are SQF.

Thank you,

It matters much more that they are CERTIFIED to work on YOUR MD

are the wands the exact same you use?

Hi Scampi,

That't what I thought too. I am not sure about the wands but I doubt it.

This is what they state "We use certified and NIST traceable calibration weights, and certified metal detector test wands that are calibrated in a lab that meets ISO 3290 International Standard with standards coming from ISO 9001:2008 suppliers."

They are also very expensive. Mettler Toledo is way cheaper than they are so we will just go with them.

Thank you.

Mettler Toledo has all the certs public, which makes it easy for auditing purposes.

I've used more local companies and found that service agreement with the big guys is generally the best bet and bang for the buck, especially if you are using their equipment in your process.

Wasn't even aware of that. Very helpful.

Thank you!
