This is a good thing. I hope this extends to the food supplement industry as well.

It was dumb to begin with, good riddance. 

 

Anyone with a bit of common sense could figure out that allowing self-proclamation of novel substances as safe and not require proof of any kind was bound to result in problems.  Like most things it took them several decades to figure it out.

I had a problem with the FDA not revoking GRAS status as other organizations & countries deemed the chemicals as NOT Safe.  If the companies want to show safe at certain levels, then let them pay for the studies.
