In fiscal year 2024, the United States recorded 3.7 million lines of food imports originating from China.

China was the third-largest food exporter behind Mexico and Canada.

The FDA recorded 565 border refusals, primarily due to adulteration.

The most common cause of adulteration was the presence of melamine.
