My company has hasn't had a FSQM before and I was promoted to the job after 13 years elsewhere in the company.  Their production was a mess-some records not updated since the 70's.  In 18 months I have taken one facility from nothing to passing an FDA inspection, but now I am being asked to take on more FSQM projects while acting as a production floor supervisor as well.  We are producing 40 items and I am overwhelmed.  I have NO support team and the managers of these facilities do no want to comply(older generation)  I am up for performance review soon and should I address the major issues that I am facing?

I'd be looking for a new exterior position.

I agree with Mr. Oster. I don't think you are crazy -- unless you stayed working under those circumstances.  From your account you've been put in an impossible situation.

I think we're all a bit crazy to stay in this line of work sometimes, but I digress. So, are you now the FSQM, or still the prod floor supervisor? That's one thing I would be setting straight in my performance review.

I used to like to come to performance reviews with my own performance review of the company and those I report up to. You can imagine that came with different reactions..

You're in a situation with one way out---the door

If management already doesn't see an issue, then your ranting is not likely to change anything

Lots of opportunities exist elsewhere

Best of luck

A person cannot be QA supervisor and a production supervisor at the same time.

You are at cross-purposes. Production is all about getting the most product out the door and QA is about getting QUALITY product out the door. Yes, many production supervisors know this, but too many are lead by numbers.
