Everybody Makes Mistakes - But Should Public Health Pay the Price? On Poka-Yoke and Mechanisms of Memory

Taking place:
Friday, December 19, 2025 - 03:00 PM UK, 10.00 AM EST

Presenter:
Dr. David Rosenblatt, Head of Learning and Academic Services, Sher Consulting and Training, a Mérieux NutriSciences company

Webinar Overview:

Whenever something goes wrong because procedures weren't followed, we are conditioned to deliver "corrective training" assuming that the employee shoiuld have been more competent. This is usually not really the case. Often people simply make unavoidably mistakes or just forget. These cases should be predicted in the framework of the food safety risk assessmsnt and control should not focus on enhancing competence but rather on developing Poka-Yoke solutions. In this webinar we will learn how to implement foolproofing (Poka-Yoke) and memory boosting tools as part of a food safety management system.
