Good afternoon, 

 

 I am new to the New York metro area, looking for someone to calibrate my sensotec x-ray/metal detector for our yearly calibration. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone reasonable I believe my boss was quote 4k for the calibration which seems outrageous as I only paid 800 at most in south Jersey. Thank you !!!

North Jersey is my original stomping ground.

 

That $4,000 might not be that off for the area that you now find yourself in.

 

My suggest would be you consider contacting the company/person you had in South Jersey and offer $1500 - $2,000 - considering that tech would need to travel up the GSP and or Turnpike, travel time, meals and maybe an overnight as well considering its a round trip and not local.  $2,000 sounds about right.
