Hi, all. Would like to ask which types of floor coatings are suitable for food processing area (wet processing area & high traffic), aside from epoxy & polyurethane? Any suggestion? (prefer it to be cost effective).

Thanks, and have a nice day ahead, all!

Hi, Jasonmah.

What hygiene zones? Depending on the risk, and product, polymer modified cementitious floor can be used. This will help to avoid dust accumulation and minimize pores and pore size.

For high traffic, you can still use polyurethane (heavy duty type) however ensure you have thick layer to avoid damaging of the flooring.

Depending also on what product and chemical you have/use, polymethylmethlylacrylate can also be used

Define cost effective...........it makes much more sense to have the floors coated CORRECTLY the first time............if not done well with the right coating you will have wasted your money and created harbour points for pathogens. You said aside for epoxy and urethane....why? They are best is class and you should only have to have it done once.  This is not a place where looking for a lower cost alternative makes sense in the long run

You've also got employee safety to think about........wet floors (especially if fats are involved) can create a surface like a skating rink
