Does it really matter?

OK well in my mind the hierarchy of documents should be:

Policy
Quality Manual
Procedures
Work Instructions
Forms
Records

In that case I would class PRP's as procedures.

Simon

as you state PRP MANUAL and simon post.. I think PRP Manual include in FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MANUAL.. and for the practice you have to include PRP control on your procedure.

To ki_Prayong:

Just to share with you our experience.

Our company is a HACCP certified company by the Ministry of Health Malaysia and we are required to have a separate manual for HACCP and PRP / GMP manual. So, our practice is to treat the PRP manual the same level as the HACCP manual (Level 1).
[This means: the approval, issuance, control, amendment, distribution, storage and disposal method of our GMP manual are the same as the HACCP Manual]

Simon is right in that it doesn't really matter what level of document it is. It is just a piece of paper that on its one doesn't actually do anything. A competent auditor will be looking for evidence that the PRP's are documented, implemented and effective.....not where in your manual you have placed them.
