We currently have a dispenser in our breakroom area filled with Tylenol, Rolaids and Advil. HR uses the money from this dispenser (25Cents for each item) for the benevolence fund. My opinion is that we should have them more controled. I would like to find out if this is exceptable or not for BRC compliance. Any help would be great! :biggrin:

Since this is apparently unheard of, I will have them removed. (to be on the safe side) :dunno:

Dear Welo,

Sorry, never saw yr post.

I have never encountered yr particular innovation (sounds to potentially contravene all kinds of laws, never mind BRC, but maybe not in USA). :smile:

However some companies (most?) do have segregated first aid facilities for obvious reasons but these are not randomly accessible.

You have probably made a wise decision IMO.

It's in the title Welo "control". Medicines need to be available where required but controlled by management. Problem is I've had a glass of wine so cannot rememember the applicable control systems right now. :whistle:

First of all,

Are they locked? Who has the key of such first aid box?

Secondly do they bear regular inventory(Both for confirming on sufficience and duration of items)?

Finally, are they regular inspected for confirming the integrity of the box?

If so, they are under control. By the way do not forget to record your activities.

Only my five cents opinion,

Thanks for your input everyone. They are in dispenser on the wall. Not really much control. And btw, no records as to whom is getting the otc meds. So, much to the chagrin of HR, I will have them removed.
