Hi

Having spoke to a few people with knowledge of BRC audits, it does seem that BRC auditors sometimes have a theme they are more focused on, last year it seemed to be allergens.

Does anybody know what this years theme is?

What are the main changes in version 6? I think they will be the focus simply because they are new.

I have been audited by many auditors (BRC) every year with the companies that I look after.
Every or most auditors have there own areas that they like to dig only because these are "comfort" zones for them, i.e. an area or industry from a past life.

Some it is HACCP and like you say some it is allergens

But generally they are just a pain in the behind and can get hung up and anything!

The only thing you can do is be better then them, know you BRC standard, know your industry and do not be afraid to challenge them on anything.

Ny views

After improving your knowledge, you will find that you could become a BRC audior  And the team of BRC auditors is stronger and stronger~Ha,

By theway, when the time you are learning more knowledge and try to challenge the auditors. Objectively your factory will self-improve, too. That is the final purpose of the certification schemes- to push the companies improve, but not only a tool to assess the level of the companies. Definitely certificate is an excelent award to the certified companies

Best regards,

jason

Most of factories didn't well understand BRC standard, and they implement the BRC standard according to auditor's suggestions instead of BRC standard.

Hi Rex,

Well one problem is that the auditor could not suggest or guide the audited companies before, during and after the audit. Otherwise independance of the third party auditors will be disappeared. It is also a violation to the auditor requirement  .

Jason

I myself did not notice a "theme" at all- I'm not sure where our quality team here has gathered this idea of secret themes. My feeling is the increased focus within the industry on allergens may have influenced the experienced auditors to increase their focus on this area last year.

Be prepared in all areas and we will have no worries my good friends.

It is not so much the position you carry in life, as it is how you carry yourself within your position.
