Can anyone give me information on the standards/requirements for recycling water in a food processing facility (United States Requirements/Global Industry Standard).

Specifically, could water used in a retort cooling shell be captured and re-used to flume raw product, or rinse containers (cans) after they have been seamed (pror to retorting)? My inclination is that I would have to prove that the water is still fit for use (sample and test) - is that adequate?
