Hi all, I know this is a long shot, but here goes........I'm a student currently studying Bsc Business IT at MMUBS, for one of my assignements I have decided to research in to matters of change management, in particular resistance to change. I'm having quite a lot of difficulty retrieving information..... can anyone recommend any good books, forum sights, journals???? So far I've uncovered quite a lot to do with MIS implementation efforts, power and politics, however this is not really the path I'd like to go down........I would be ever so grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. :crybaby:

Many Thanks,
Gill

Hi Gill welcome to the forums. :bye:

Take a look at the site below it's the brainchild of David Straker an amazingly talented guy and friend of SaferPak. It should be a good starting point for your research.

http://changingminds..._management.htm

My generic checklist for minimising the risk of failure and for minimising resistance to change in change projects:

- Know where you are
- Know where you want to be
- Break the journey down into manageable chunks with clear milestones
- Make detailed plans for achieving each step
- Recognise change isn't easy
- Understand that all people are different and adapt to change in different ways and at different speeds
- Build the case for change with employees
- Communicate, communicate, communicate
- Pack as many soft skills into the boot as you can carry
- Pump your tyres up and enjoy the bumpy ride

I'm not an expert but do have real life experience of change projects.

Hope this helps; if you have any specific questions as you go along just ask.

Regards,
Simon
