Hi, we have just received a complaint from a customer regarding a piece of chewing gum that was stuck between two plastic trays. This was deliberate as we have banned chewing gum from site, don't currently know whether it's a grudge against the company or individual.

What info I'm after is a machine, maybe an X ray machine or similar that we could use to either scan a packed pallet - the trays are densely packed, sometimes 4000 to a box, or an individual box. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or anything similar?

Obviously investigations of a forensic nature are underway but going forward we need to be more technical than we currently are.

Hi Rosemary4

You probably can X Ray each box of trays but what would you look for? This time its chewing gum, next it could be something entirely different.

Can you inspect each tray by sight on the production line?
Can you inspect each tray by using a camera on the production line? I have made systems before which are capable of this.

Its a difficult one to eliminate.

Kind regards

Brian
