I have spent some time trying to find good information with google but have not gotten very far. What I am looking for is an online based service that allows searching of the scientific literature, particularly literature related to food science and food safety, and allows full text access to the articles -- or a least a good portion of the articles.

Since we are rather small there will only be one or two users and I am looking for something with reasonable subscription or pay for use cost. Any recommendations?

Dear williamw,

No personal experience but maybe you mean something like this -

http://www.ifis.org/

This famous organisation also offers related services but maybe more oriented to case-by-case issues ( :dunno: ) -

http://www.campdenbr...legislation.php

I think there are a few other organisations doing similar services but they don't seem to advertise too strongly.

Rgds / Charles.C

PS another famous UK organisation -

http://www.foodlinew...line/index.aspx

(via googling "food science literature information search" )

Kind Regards,

Charles.C

You could try getting a library membership to your local university. Using the library membership at my local university has allowed me to look at scientific journals easily through their online search. I can see more articles in journals that way than I can using Google scholar.
