In BRC Issue 6, clause 7.1.4, what does it mean by "duration of the training"? On our internal training records we record the date. The training record also indicates that the trainee signs it after "receiving and understanding the training described".

With regards to training duration, you need to record how long the training took.

 

So, if you were to deliver Food Hygiene training in 6 hours, you need to record that it took 6 hours.

 

I have a print off that records each of the tasks that an indivdual may carry out, and after they are deemed trained, they sign against the task to acknowledge that they understand, and it is counter signed by the trainer to acknowledge that they believe that the trainee is competent. I then counter sign to "reease" the trainee to carrying out the task unsupervised.

Exactly as Caz stated we ran into same issue with our audit that we need to include the time it takes to conduct the training.

Just need to indicate the time you took to train and you are set.

Ditto above.  We covered ourselves by writing the actual inservice/training times  (ex: 8:30am-9:30 am) next to the date and training session title.  Make it automatic, when you document the date and topic title--document the actual times.  Nothing more than that.  That's all they want.

Looking at the Clause 7.1 Training and sub-clause 7.1.4 :' the date and duration of the training'  as part of our due diligence procedure, individual  training recorded have been designed with date and time upon a new emloyeebeing  hired and take 3 hours   to complete the training program as detailed below:

•  Induction,
• Food Hygiene
•   Manual Handling 
•  Health and Safety
