HAI ALL, I request you people to kindly help me in making a practicable procedure to comply with the clause 1.1.6 ("the company's senior management shall have a system in place to ensure that the company is kept informed of scientific and technical developments, industry codes of practice and all relevant legislation applicable in the country of raw material supply, production and, where known, the country where the product will be sold") In fact I am looking for a procedure for getting information relevant as mentioned in the clause and to disseminate the same to all in our facility, Thanks in advance, Regards, Sanil

The information refereed to in the clause includes alerts, recalls, withdrawals, legislative changes, scientific updates, data on existing and emerging hazards, etc.

Sourcing of this information can be through a number of sources including RSS feeds from various government and agency websites, through service providers such as consultants, laboratory and legal notifications from Competent Authorities.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's website appears to have good information and is updated regularly. Your procedure could include regular checking of this sites.

Do a web search of the markets you supply and you will find the equivalent authority who will provide the updates you need. Many have RSS feeds which will make the job even easier.

Hi KPS,

Your organisation should be able to demonstrate that it keeps up to date with relevant legislation, scientific and technical developments and industry codes of practice. Examples of how this can be done include:
Membership of a trade organisation
Subscription to a service provider supplying legal updates
Help from government officials or local enforcement
Regular review of identified websites covering legislation and standards

Regards,

Tony

I do

Every time I access a (relevant) website, I keep a record of it on a spreadsheet. I actually do a copy of the URL and the date.

I also ensure I get alerts from the FSA and access the RASFF portal regular

I also look at Europa on a weekly basis, and also industry specific news.
