Hi,

Wondering if any manufacturing sites are RSPO supply chain certified, and if so how they conducted their mass balance exercise to reconcile the amount of palm oil coming in to that despatched (as finished product) to their customer?

Any help appreciated!

Yes sorry about that.

As indicated above, it's about tracking of palm oil containing ingredients, from receipt at the site through to the customer (as a component of a finished product).

Similar to a mass balance in a recall exercise, but it's done at regular intervals to ensure what comes in equals what is going out.

Would be interested to know if anyone has a system up and running.

Thanks all.

Hi,

we use certified RSPO fats and oils (starting with mass balance a few years ago, now having nearly finalized the switch to segregated). We have done the switch plant by plant - so it was easy to demonstrate performance and balancing.

Thanks for that.

We were able to develop a spreadsheet that shows amounts coming in and going out, though it is a challenge to mass balance an individual batch (the information is there, just not easy to reconcile on a regular basis).

Sinnae,

Any chance you'd be able to share an example of the spreadsheet you created? I am in the process of becoming RSPO certified, and I'm trying to figure out the same question you originally had.

Thanks!
