We are in the midst of the spring allergy season, with high pollen/spore counts any day that it is not raining. I have asthma but the normal beta agonists that most people take are counteracted by the beta blockers that I take for my essential tremor. So I can only take Singulair and an antihistamine. We've had a lot of precipitation this year which makes the mold grow and the trees put out a great effort. The grass is just getting started, that pollen season peaks on Memorial Day. Even the dog is suffering, beagles are prone to allergies.
Not even the pre-election dramatics help, and it's started already on this side of the pond.
But spring is still my favorite time of year, green is my favorite color. I'll suffer through for the beauty. The irises that I separated last year are now two large clumps with buds growing up out of each plant. In a few days there will be purple/blue accents framing the front steps.
I love spring.

Ugh, Martha, my sympathies! I have minor allergies by comparison.
I did some work yesterday in our garage, which didn't help anything!! I found a couple of books that have been lost to the mildew monsters, and a couple of photos that I was able to save. Small steps, but progress!

You can always have the snow back Martha.
I agree spring is the most beautiful time; I especially love the blossom trees. The only downside is they shed their petals far too quickly.

LOL on the snow.
The trees are beautiful. Many ornamental fruit trees do shed petals fast. Try ornamental crabapples, the blooms last for several weeks and change tint as they open more. I would say try the American species of Dogwood as well, but I saw that it does not bloom well in England because the winters are not cold enough and the summers not hot enough. Moderation has a price, the American Dogwood is a beautiful tree. The white (or pink) are bracts, not petals, so they last for a while.

“Will this be on the test?" "Yeah, about the test. The test will measure whether you are an informed, engaged, and productive citizen of the world, and it will take place in schools and bars and hospitals and dorm rooms and in places of worship. You will be tested on first dates, in job interviews, while watching football, and while scrolling through your Twitter feed. The test will judge your ability to think about things other than celebrity marriages, whether you’ll be easily persuaded by empty political rhetoric, and whether you’ll be able to place your life and your community in a broader context. The test will last your entire life, and it will be comprised of the millions of decisions, that when taken together, make your life yours. And everything — EVERYTHING — will be on it.”

LOL! Nice! We have a new craft brewer opening in the general neighborhood, so it may be that I'm rescuing some hops and barley....or else rescuing apples at the cidery (is that the word?)

That's a real beauty Martha, unfortunately all too soon the petals are dropping from the blossom trees, partly due anyhow, but hastened by some wet and windy weather. Ah well...roll on the summer.
I'm managing to restrict alcohol to Friday and Saturday nights these day's...me and my liver look forward to it very much.
Hooray for Fridays!!!

I've been asking for one with a cuppa tea, or even coffee, for us teetotalers, but nothing has been forthcoming...
