By the way Franco - where abouts are you in Italy? Are you going to watch the match between Juventus and Manchester United tonight. Although I support United I think Juve will win tonight 3-1.

Hope You're right. I'm a Juventus supporter since 1973. Going to watch the match at home, on my TV. Manchester United is a very strong team. They play soccer very good. My favourite player is Giggs.

I have been a Man Utd fan since around the same time and used to go to Old Trafford religiously in the 80's. Those were the days when you could stand up and sing and there was always a fantastic atmosphere.

Theatre of Dreams is a good name for the ground now that it's all-seater. The atmosphere is like a morgue although the football I agree is fantastic to watch.

Ryan Giggs is from the same town as me and he went to a rival school down the road. I am a little bit older than him and never had the pleasure (misfortune) of playing against him. I'm afraid I would have ended up hurting the Welsh Wonder.

Super Manchester United !!! Many compliments.
Ryan Giggs was the man of the match, but also Veron and all the middle-fielders of Utd were super yesterday evening.
Hope that United beats Basel and Deportivo, so Juventus will be able to go on in Champions League. The final match is going to be played at Old Trafford on May 28th, isn't it ?

Hi Franco,

It was a fantastic game to watch. It was not an expected result or performance, especially after last week's game when I think Juventus dominated with a much-depleted side.

Your boys had plenty of chances in the first half but we got the breaks. Veron and Giggs were both magnificent and it is difficult to understand as both produced performances far exceeding what they have been showing in the premiere league (do you think they fancy a move to Italy?). There have been rumours of a dressing room split at Old Trafford with Giggs wanting to leave (perhaps to an Italian club). It will not have done any harm to his chances or the united shareholders pockets if those are his intentions.

Its unfair but I really think that Ferguson will field weakened teams against Basle and Deportivo in the remaining games; I'm sure anyone would in his position. In saying that whatever team he puts out will be trying to win.

The final is at Old Trafford and Manchester United v Juventus would make a fantastic final.

Regards,
Simon
