In our processes we have installed extreme grate magnets  and in our HACCP plan we have identifed as oPRP and we have maintained a cleaning at our bagging before metal detection every 4 hours. Idid not write a specific SOp and now it is becoming mandotory on

making sure is how they clean

avoid dropping the magents - loose its strength

measuring in gauss or LBS - which is appropriate

Will appreciate the comments and feedback and if one has an SOp to share

Michael

Hi Michael,

:welcome:

This will depend on your process/product and history of metal found on the magnets, please supply more information if you require an informed answer.

Regards,

Tony

Helllo Tony

Firstly as i have stated i am asking for an SOP that one has in their process that can share

We have conducted a detailed risk analysis - and we have magents in our process to protect our equipment  and we have magents bbefore bagging and finally metal detection

As the industry measure on magnet strength is in Gauss or tesla

We have a test kit which measures in lbs but that easy to convery to gauss

Our risk analysis has identifed metal shavings for we do have a course product but that is normal in most operations

The sensitivity on our metal detection is set at 1.5 mm for ferrous, 2.0 for non ferrous and stainless steel

What i am hoping that any of the team has a SOP in place highlighting the testing of the magnets and cleaning (Do and don'ts

Hi MG

More information on the product and where those shavings are coming from will help.

Tony
