Hi, I am doing some work for a small island resort on food safety and HACCP. On the island their only water source is from their own desalination plant. It is being suggested that this plant is part of the pre-requisites and therefore does not need a full HACCP of its own. Not sure I fully agree with this - what do others think. I believe it should have its own HACCP plan - does anyone have one of these for such a plant? The plant has been in operation for several years without an issue and is well managed with lots of testing etc as one might imagine. Any help / thoughts are welcomed. Thanks

In my opinion it should have it's own HACCP plan. In my mind i see it as a separate facility. It would be similar to me buying paper from one of our suppliers. Does my HACCP plan cover him? No, so he would need to have his own.
