I have been using IFSQN for the past 3 years to development my knowledge in food & beverage manufacturing. I know I was getting bashed by some of the senior members due to my age and lack of knowledge in the field being a 25 year old QA MANAGER/SQF Practitioner.

Well 3 audits in 2.5 weeks- and I am finally able to take a few days off

Nestle 3 day audit-Grade Satifactory

SQF Level 3 3 day audit- Score 94

Rich Foods 2 day Audit- 91.2

Our quality plans have a few adjustments, however all OIPs or recommendations, nothing considered a minor or major.

Our facility has been the down fall of our scores- its an older "wet facility" with very little SS machinery-AS YOU CAN IMAGINE THE IMAGE.

My goals for the next few years are to improve the facility with multiple continous improvement projects to enhance our production area. 1. stainless conveyors, 2. upgraded floors, 3. more efficient equipment. More so, I am going to a advanced practitioners course and haccp course to better myself. And I plan on attempting to pursue my green belt.

Sounds like you have cemented a solid foundation on which you can build upon.  Well done!  I imagine it's been a great learning experience...the key now is not lose the momentum (which often happens a this stage).  Give yourself a few day's off to reflect and enjoy and then make your plans for the future. It's great the IFSQN has helped you, thanks for the feedback.

Have a great weekend.

Regards,

Simon

I completely understand where you are coming from with the age/ lack of experience; I am in the same boat (23 year old Quality Assurance Manager /SQF Practioner) Good luck! I am glad to see how much you've done, and hopefully I will be saying the same thing once our audits come around in the spring :)

I have been in the same boat! I am a young QA Manager/ Practitioner (24 currently, 23 when I got the job). We have been recently audited and maintained our Excellent rating!

Great job on your audits!

Hi Quality22,

You won't get any bashing from me. I started out as as a QA Specialist at 25, and took over the QA Manager role at 26. You can be young and get the job done if you're willing to jump right in and absorb as much as you can.

Congrats on your audit scores! I hate having audits all clumped together, so I'm sure it was a pain. However, you and your team did very well. Rest up, and hope to hear (or rather see) more from you on IFSQN. :spoton:

Whoohooo! Congrats! I can't imagine having that many audits at once, but you did it!

I'm also a young person (26 yrs)! Although I'm technically Document Control, I'm also one of our backup SQF Practitioners (and Food Safety trainer, and Internal Auditor, and more...small company, many hats).
