Being a Fish Aquaculture & Processing company with BAP certification for Farming activity,

we are at the cross roads of choosing between BRC and BAP for manufacturing activity.

We are likely to go with the decision of choosing BAP, but would anyone recommend us to go for BRC over BAP

for any specific reason from their own experience with both standards, either as an operator or as an auditor?

Your valuable feedback will be much appreciated

Thanks

Sri

Try this in your browser (kindly search it, there's something wrong with my file so I can't properly attached the pdf)

comparing global food safety initiative (gfsi) - SGS

In this pdf, all GFSI standards are discussed including their strong points.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Joan

I'm not really on aqua culture sector but in my own opinion, since BAP and BRC standards are both align with GFSI Guidance Document Sixth Edition.

I'm gonna go with BAP standard for it focuses mainly in your sector and the requirements would be easy to interpret (aquaculture processing) in your side.

On the other hand, BRC standard talks in general aspect (though it gives specific requirements stated on each clause), so its up to the manufacturing company to interpret it based on their processing.

Sri, I always advise members to consider what your customers require.

It may be worth canvassing the opinions of some of your larger customers.

Simon
