Goodmorning everyone.
During an inspection visit we were asked to evaluate the risk of migration into our product packaging materials (chicken meat and cooked turkey and sliced). What are the specific anlisis migrazioen for a product like ours? Someone made analysis of specific migration or just overall migration analysis?
Thanks for your help

There are two documents required for plastic materials as per EU 10/2011
1 - Overall Migration - this ensures that the material is suitable for contact with you food type.
2 - specific migration. there are defined limits in the regulation. this needs to be determined by laboratory who has the full formulation to be able to effectively assess the material.
There is also a requirement for suppliers of materials to supply a document known as "Declaration of Compliance". this is a legal requirement as stated in 10/2011. this gives all necessary details requiring safety of chemicals and migration from packaging materials.
