Just finished our unannounced audit.  Proud to say we scored a 97 on the audit.  Happy it is over.

Fantastic!  Not having been through one yet, were there any differences between announced and unannounced that you experienced?

Is that an SQF audit Christina? Was it voluntary?

Very good going to get an almost perfect on any unannounced audit.

Well done!

Simon

SQF has Unannounced Re-Certification Audits from their CB within 3 cycles. To quote from edition 7.2, Part A, section 4.5

Within three (3) certification cycles the certification body shall conduct one (1) unannounced re-certification audit of the supplier. The unannounced audit shall occur in the supplier’s facility within the sixty (60) day re-certification window (i.e., the anniversary date of the initial certification audit +/- thirty (30) days). Currently certified SQF suppliers shall be required to undertake one (1) unannounced audit within the three (3) year certification cycle.

At our plant we had an unannounced re-cert audit the year before I came in, and even though word was that it was a bit chaotic, we still passed with a good rating. If the SQF system is maintained well enough, I think everyone can pass their unannounced re-cert audit with a good rating or even excellent.

Although, if you're at the 3rd year with that CB and auditor, that means you'll have a new auditor next year, which is always fun!

But it's amazing to see a 97 on an unannounced audit! Congratulations again!

RMAV - I did not notice any significant changes to this audit compared to others.  Other than my nerves when I was told he was here
