Yes sieve integrity and also correct sieve size (if multiple sieve size options on line)

I see this quite a bit.

 

Monitoring is at start and end of production run. Checks usually include if it is the correct sieve and the integrity of the sieve.

 

Training of the person doing the monitoring is important as there can be a risk of contaminating the filter during the start up check and also if the sieve is not seated correctly when replaced then it will not be filtering properly.

besides the sieves which have to be checked at start and end of a production there are techniques available for continuous monitor the sieves/screen's integrity.

Yr comment is interesting. Could you expand a little ? (I assume we are not talking about a readily visible sieve )

we are a bakery (fine bakery wares). We are applying automatic screen monitoring mainly for bulk raw materials like flour and sugar to prevent huge amounts of finished products on stop if we would detect damaged screen at the end of production only. If we would check at start and beginning only and having fed up to 20 production lines with these raw materials we will loose reaction time in a plant. Our principle is to produce JIT and on demand, not to much on stock.

Nevertheless we do additional visual inspection at start and at the end of production.
