I can't really share our procedure and it's not for a warehouse but things I'd include are:

Responsibility.

Understanding of hazards / explanation of the why it needs cleaning up.

General principle for zero tolerance for spills.

How to identify allergens and allergen spills.

What needs to be done to clean it up including what equipment to use, where to put the waste, how to clean up the personnel used for the clean up if that's a risk (e.g. handwash afterwards may be enough in a warehouse.)

How to assess whether any other ingredients could be contaminated.

Root cause analysis of how the spill occurred if possible

Put actions in place to prevent recurrence (often spills are caused by fork damage, you may chose to put allergens in an area less likely to be damaged for example.)

Hope that helps?

Hi Dee,

The previous post covers many of the steps required.

It may depend a little on how detailed a plan you require and for whom..

Some possibilities in various locations –

Attached File  asp1 - SOP Glass Allergen Chemical Spill.doc   36KB   572 downloads

Attached File  asp2 - allergen control including spillage procedure.doc   98.5KB   779 downloads

Attached File  asp3 - Glass-Breakage-allergen-Spillage-and-Incident-Procedure.pdf   160.88KB   552 downloads

Attached File  asp4 - Nut Seed Spill Clean SOP.pdf   44.28KB   447 downloads

Some more information/suggestions here –

Thank you so much Charles.  I really liked the first 3 examples.  I think that a combination of those examples will help tremendously.  Again, thank you for sharing.  Dee N.
