Does anyone been able to run metalized film through a metal detector? I have been told it can be done but, how?

The film incorporates an aluminum barrier in the middle of two sheets of laminated poly film.

Hi Taste Maker,

I have no direct usage experience but afaik this requires a specific type of metal detector which is widely available commercialy. For example from Google -

Metal detection systems can be placed into three basic categories. Balanced Coil (most common) Ferrous in Foil, and Multi-simultaneous.

The Ferrous in Foil type will work however these systems do not detect non Ferrous or non magnetic SS

The balanced Coil detectors will not be able to inspect products in foil as the conductive nature of the packaging material would require major reduction in sensitivity simply to inspect the product resulting in poor detection qualities.

Multi-simultaneous systems have been utilized with applications of foil packaging with good detection capabilities.

Of course X-ray inspection would be possible as well.

The MD Basics and Factors Limiting Sensitivity should help to answer your questions.

The end of Factors Limiting Sensitivity speaks to the multi-simultaneous inspection capabilities.
