Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to say how much I appreciate this forum and it's users. What an excellent source for references and expertise!

I do have one question regarding BRC risk assesments. I understand we are required to have several RAs completed. Are all RAs in the standard required to be preformed using a likelihood x significance matrix? Or are meeting minutes, notes, etc on the item being assed sufficient?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Buggy,

As you say, there are numerous requests for "Risk assessments" in the BRC Food Standard.

The required format for compliant responses is not a fixed one, it is up to you. It is also often subjective. Many formats are likely acceptable for a given request.

BRC expectations for risk assessments are not always obvious, eg "risk-based" is quite a popular indirect RA request.

There are a multitude of examples of possible RA response formats to many of the BRC clauses already posted on this Forum. The attachment below reviews the BRC7 Standard's RA requirements and illustrates one semi-generic RA approach for a few typical BRC clauses.
