Good Morning,

I have another conundrum to throw out to the community.  Currently we are doing some exporting to Hong Kong, typically a couple of hundred cases.  We would like to streamline our process and move away from the USDA stamp and move to a printable label version of the stamp.  This would allow us to expedite our stamping process.

One of the requirements of utilizing a printed USDA stamp label is to utilize a tamper evident label.  However, none of our suppliers can currently provide a tamper evident label that can suit our needs.

Has anyone gone to this type of process?  If so, I am hoping you might be able to share how you achieve tamper resistance.  Any examples, feedback, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Michael

I have used establishment tape in the past as "tamper evident" The tape is printed with government approval, with the Canadian establishment logo with the establishment number. That has sufficed for both the importing country and the CFIA inspectors....perhaps the same would work?  The carton label also included the establishment symbol and number

The tape is not readily available, and the printers have to have government approval to print it. BUT you need to ensure that you verify the labels when they arrive (someone didn't once and it didn't get caught til product had already arrived at the DC) So, we created a record and 2 specific people to verify labels on arrival.
