Hi Paul,

OP was talking about BRC Packaging, the requirement structure is different from BRC FS and may make confusion.

Good morning,

can some one tell me what is expected in the clause 1.1.4 of the BRC IoP Please

thank you for your help.

Hi Nesrine,

The first two items can concern to R&D, like any new products, materials, technology (processes, machines), new standards, etc. Do you make any procedures for adoption, or checking changes and reporting annually?

The 3rd is jobs of CCO (chief compliance officer) or QA. Do you have instructions and personnel to frequently check status of laws (e.g. new amendments of EU No. 10/2011) of the countries where you factory is located and where your products are shipped to?

The 4th could be as a person in your BRC Team who regularly browses BRC website or contacts CB/consultant.

Those are just my examples, YMMV.

Hi Nesrine

The company needs to demonstrate that it can readily access, either directly or through a third party, legislation relating to the product in the country, state or territory where products are manufactured (as a minimum) and, ideally, sold to the ultimate consumer.   For example: • membership of a trade association and receipt of its newsletters • subscription to a service provider supplying legal updates • help from local enforcement offices • regular review of identified websites covering legislation and standards.

I would suggest that you also subscribe to BRC Participate, there you can get the interpretation guide of each clause.

After being audited 4 times now for recertification, my responses always get good feedback.

I subscribe to many websites, such as FDA, IFSQN, Food safety News, Food Safety Magazine, and BRC.  I opt in for news releases, etc.  This way I am notified of any new legislature that is pending through the FDA and up to date an all new products and policies.
