Hello,

We are preparing for our Annual Physical Examination, our consultant is requiring as to include Salmonella analysis as per Food Safety compliance.

Is it required as per FSSC? or we can do random swabbing every month.

Thanks

Anthony

Please clarify meaning of "Annual Physical Examination"

Do you mean testing employee's  faeces for Salmonella ?

Kind Regards,

Hi Charles,

Yes its for faeces. Is it mandatory as per FSSC?

Thanks,

Hi Tonying,

I doubt it unless it's mentioned somewhere in yr Local Regulatory Standards or in yr own internal Literature

Or perhaps if you have had some significant, documented, environmental/product Salmonella detections ?

Kind Regards,

Sir Charles,

No history for Salmonella in our process line. It was a suggestion from our FS consultant.

Can we just do random swabbing (monthly monitoring) for our workers?

Thanks

Tonying

Hi Tonying,

I suggest you ask yr Consultant to justify his suggestion.

IMEX swabbing of hands/ external clothing are typically included within a routine, risk-based, surveillance program of food-contact/non-contact surfaces. The details, eg scope of micro.analysis, typically relates to the specific situation.

Hi T,

I agree with Charles in reaching out to your consultant for clarification first! To my knowledge, the guidance is still fairly high-level and doesn't get specific based on pathogen.
