Dear All,

If there is to be another competition :uhm: I would like to see the funniest or most embaressing moment during an audit or factory visit.

I have a few to tell so to start the ball rolling:

The buyer and a technologist from a major multiple came on site for a visit / audit. I showed the Technologist round whilst the buyer had a quick tour and off to lunch.
Late in the day we were looking at a packing machine and the operator asked me "If that F***ing C**t from ***** has gone can we pack that sh*t product now? " :helpplease:

How about the operator who offered an auditor from a major blue chip food manufacturer a piece of chewing gum after she enquired "do you mind if I ask what you are eating?"

Oh dear!

During a recent HSE visit, the inspector asks 'Do you have a site speed limit?'

Yes we dutifully answer pointing to the very large signs showing 'Max speed 10mph'

At that moment one of the staff, returning late from their lunch break comes into the rear yard (quite small and reasonably congested) at about 35mph and performs a very poorly exected attempt to handbreak turn into a parking space.

The lad got a very written warning.

I have to say the inspector was very good about it, especially as my director almost had the lad pinned against the wall before his car had finally stopped.

Perhaps my post memorable audit 'incident' was while I was assistant to our then QA Manager.
The morning session of the audit went fairly well, with only a few observations noted by the two auditors, a young chap and a very well dressed, more senior lady auditor  .
Anyway, lunchtime arrived, and our QA Manager suggested that we go out for lunch, to one of the local pubs.
Halfway across the carpark, he announced that we would take his car, as he needed to pick up his dog from home, and take it to his ex-wife's house for the weekend. <_<
Up we rolled to his house, where a huge shaggy wolf-hound was duly shoe-horned into the boot of the hatchback, and proceeded to lean over the seat and shed hair and dribble onto my suit and that of the lady auditor sat next to me on the back seat of the car.
Once deposited at the ex-wifes, we headed on to the pub where, after partaking of a few pints and a large meal, it was discovered that they didn't take any form of plastic, and QA Manager had no cash on him. I had about three quid in total, which meant that the lady auditor was forced to pick up the bill for lunch as well!
How we ever got through that audit I will never know, but suffice to say that having been QA Manager for the last two years now, I always order lunch in when auditors are on site!

Sounds like 'carry on auditing' - the well dressed lady wasn't Joan Sims by any chance? :sleazy:
