The aqualab 4TE is the one im most familar with as well. I also recommend. it is more expensive than 1000-1500. the same company makes a potable meter called pawkit. you may look at that to see if it will fulfill your needs. might be other options in UK as well.

Hi Saenath,
You should look at the Aqualab Pawkit meter as Kingstudruler1 mentioned above. It is indeed portable, and very small (smaller than a cell phone). We used to use this for quick checks in the lab. It wasn't very expensive, if I recall correctly. If you need a unit of more "official validation" standards, you might have to do some digging into some industry auctions.

Because i'm located in USA, i don't think i can help with used equipment sources. My only other thought is that if you are using this as a food safety control (CCP, preventative control, etc) is do not go with something that you can rely on. the costs of the meters does not stop at the purchase price. there is still the "dishes", standards, etc to take into consideration. I would create a cost analysis of what you are currently spending on 3rd party lab test VS the price of ownership and present that to the people that make decisions on resources. I would think that a decent meter would pay for itself in a year or so. (ex - one test per day at $30/test = $11,000). however, if it doesnt make sense to purchase, it doesnt make sense......
you could contact aqualab, novasina, rotronic and see if they have any used or demo instruments for sale.
