Purple yams appear to have originated in the Phillipines.
 
The purple color and sugar content make for great ice creams, desserts, etc.
 
Quite the power pack for minerals, vitamins, net carbs, etc.
 
 
You should be able to get them from just about any major produce wholesaler - however the growing window pretty much ended in June.
 
This coming may for able to help, they are in Manila...
 
The powder can be gotten from:
 
 
Ask them for wholesale pricing.
 
You'll need to do your own investigation for the Kosher mark.

I work for an ice cream factory, and we're getting ube for our ice cream from APO. Try them - though, not sure if it's Kosher...
