Hello, usually a guidance is put out with each code, has that been done yet for SQF 9.0? I have been searching with no luck.

Same. I'm trying to make sure SQF 2.2.1 is current and I need some guidance as to what they are specifically looking for.

really and truly very little has changed..........i used the previous version guidance and populated it with what SQF has posted re: v9

mostly its moving items from module 2 to module (insert yours) to reduce redundancy

it took me about 2 1/2 days but i did that during our lag time

From what I have heard, the guidance documented is expected to be available around the middle or late March.  There are some Tip Sheets, Free Webinars and Short Videos available now on Edition 9 on the SQF Website.

Hi Scampi,

Ahem. Perhaps not quite yet complete ?  -

Actually, to be fair to SQF, a list of changes from previous version is available. It's the explanations which are lacking. Not a deficiency unique to SQF of course.

As of today, no guidance documents but all changes are listed in the respective categories in the SQF Code Comparison documents on the SQFI website. I just printed it and highlighted anything that says "Added", "Clarification" or "New". Most of what I have seen (for packaging) is relocation of items to other sections or as Charles stated, from module 2 to your specific module. In Module 13 I see 18 new or modified areas throughout. We're fortunate that after our audit was postponed by our CB, it will be late April so it's still to Ed 8.2. We have implemented a lot of the Ed 9 changes which will hopefully work in our favor!

Our 2020 recertification audit was this week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During the audit I was asking if he had any inside information on when they would release the guidance documents. Neither of us knew until I went on Tuesday afternoon and saw them but they're not like past guidance. It appears they rely on all past guidance documents then only offer additional guidance. I do like that they list the modules affected though. I can ignore all the ones that don't apply. I just don;t see as much good information as they've had in the past either.

Hi queenb,

Not sure, you will get quite a good idea from the changes document: Code-Changes-Summary-Manufacture-of-Food-Packaging-Edition-9.pdf (sqfi.com)

Kind regards,
