Looking for some help, my company currently uses cream without carrageenan in our cookies, we did a test batch with carrageenan yesterday and the product came out much better. We are thinking about switching but I am unclear upon my research whether we would have to list carrageenan in our ingredient list for the cream for example Cream (Milk, carrageenan) . We also boast having a preservative free cookie, would the addition of carrageenan in the cream falsify the claim? Thanks for any advice!

This ingredient needs to go on you ingredient list. Also it is used by some as a preservative thus ypur claim will be false.

It's funny because I've never seen carrageenan used as a preservative.  I've only seen it used for texture reasons.  Sure, if you look it up online it will state uses, which include preservative.  I saw a good informational resource below about carrageenan.  I would consult a legal authority on if you can still use the claim if you add carrageenan.  I think you can show it is not normally used as a preservative, you aren't using it as a preservative and therefore can still make that claim.  However, I am no legal authority.
