There are a lot of variables involved with setting up an FSVP program and all of these will affect cost.

First, you have the cost of training, because you are required to have a qualified individual in charge of the program.  The FSVP training is super helpful too in terms of figuring out how the laws apply to your company.

Next, you have to evaluate the number of products and suppliers for each product, because each product from each supplier will require their own hazard analysis and evaluation.  This is where the bulk of your time will be, so cost, in terms of time to build and implement the program, will depend on the number of products you wish to import.

Another important note to make is that all foreign facilities that you plan to source from must be registered with the FDA and have a unique facility identifier (a Duns number).

Because these programs are so facility specific, there isn't a good way to estimate the cost of development and implementation.

For a small Food supplier from Mexico the FSMA FSVP Certification cost around to USD 4,000.- and another USD 2,500.- for VQIP.
